Somos una comunidad apasionada de jugadores hispanohablantes que seguimos con gran entusiasmo la saga Octopath Traveler. Muchos de nosotros hemos disfrutado intensamente las entregas anteriores, valorando su música, su historia, sus personajes y su hermoso estilo artístico.

Recientemente se ha anunciado que Octopath Traveler 0 estará disponible en inglés, japonés, coreano y chino, pero no contará con traducción al español. Esta noticia ha sido muy decepcionante para muchos fans que no dominan estos idiomas y, por tanto, se verán imposibilitados de disfrutar del juego en toda su profundidad.

Queremos destacar que las localizaciones al español de las entregas anteriores fueron de gran calidad y muy bien recibidas por los jugadores. Gracias a ese esfuerzo de traducción, muchos pudimos conectar emocionalmente con las historias y entender los matices de cada personaje. Saber que esta tercera entrega no contará con esa misma atención nos hace sentir excluidos de una experiencia que siempre hemos apoyado.

Sabemos que una localización implica recursos, pero también creemos que hay razones de peso para considerar el español:

-El español es el segundo idioma más hablado del mundo por número de hablantes nativos.

-Muchos JRPGs tienen una comunidad fiel en países hispanohablantes, tanto en España como en América Latina.

-Los jugadores hispanos hemos demostrado nuestro apoyo a la saga en ventas y redes sociales.

Les pedimos, con respeto y cariño por su trabajo, que reconsideren esta decisión y valoren incluir una traducción al español, aunque sea como actualización posterior y subtítulos. Creemos que todos los jugadores merecen poder disfrutar plenamente de esta obra.

Dear Square Enix team,

We are a passionate Spanish-speaking community of players who have been following the Octopath Traveler series with great enthusiasm. Many of us deeply enjoyed the previous titles, appreciating their music, storytelling, characters, and beautiful art style.

It was recently announced that Octopath Traveler 0 will be released in English, Japanese, and Chinese—but without Spanish translation. This news has been very disappointing for many fans who do not speak those languages and will therefore be unable to fully enjoy the game’s narrative and emotional depth.

We want to highlight that the Spanish translations of previous entries were of high quality and very well received by players. Thanks to that localization effort, many of us were able to emotionally connect with the characters and fully understand the stories. Knowing that this third title won’t receive the same attention makes us feel excluded from an experience we’ve always supported.

We understand that localization requires time and resources. However, we strongly believe there are compelling reasons to include Spanish:

-Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world by number of native speakers.

-Many JRPGs have loyal fanbases across Spanish-speaking countries in both Latin America and Spain.

-Spanish-speaking players have actively supported the Octopath Traveler series, both in sales and on social media.

We kindly and respectfully ask you to reconsider this decision and include a Spanish translation, even as a future update or subtitle option. We believe that all players deserve the chance to experience this beautiful work in their own language.
