Do not change Tracy Unified School District Schools' current distance learning schedule.
The Issue
Hello everyone I hope everyone is doing well. Unfortunately, the Tracy unified school district is up to no good again. Previously but Recently a few members of the TUSD originally approved a plan to reopen for in-person on November 2nd, 2020 Fortunately the outrage from the community and the media attention forced a redecision. (those members names are in the photos) The community was very clear that the current distance learning model and schedule is the most effective way of learning in the current circumstances. The district is planning on negatively modifying the current distance learning schedule. The 2020 current schedule starts at 8:15 to 10:55 with the exception of Wednesday which has its own appropriate schedule with all of the classes.
The current 2020 schedule gives students time to focus on the three main classes of the day and complete assignments for those three classes. This gives students more time to study. It gives teachers with already overwelling amounts of students time to recover and more time for better quality learning it also gives parents flexibility, the district plans for 2021 will tragically change this. Students not only would have to wake up at an unreasonable time to meet the flawed plan but teachers would be impacted as well.
The district seems to consistently approve actions that are against the community's best interests. This unfortunately shouldn't come as a surprise.
