"No Ed Leader Left Silent" on Congressional climate neglect!

I'm happy to announce that Gravenstein Union School District in Sebastopol, CA (Sonoma County) became the 30th school board in 5 states to pass a climate action resolution. Here is their resolution:
Gravenstein USD Climate Action Resolution.

According to parent (and marine scientist) Tess Hill, the room was packed and the decision was unanimous. In addition to Tess, other lead advocates included 5th and 6th graders as well as teacher Allison Rich.

More than 150 youth S4CA supporters will meet on Capitol Hill on 3.28.19 to hand-deliver school climate action resolutions to every member of Congress. This will amplify the will of the GUSD community for national climate action. Please consider donating to the S4CA GoFundMe campaign. We are providing travel scholarships for student climate advocates from CA (Butte County, Sonoma County, and San Luis Obispo County), Texas, New Mexico, and New Jersey.

To date, only 1 student council in the country has passed a climate action resolution: Credo High School Student Council Call to Climate Action Resolution They will likely be joined soon by student councils in Santa Monica, DC, and Oregon.

We believe student council resolutions calling on Congress to end climate neglect and empowering ed leaders to break their silence about this neglect, will eventually spread faster and exert more influence than even school board resolutions. Here is a sample student council resolution:  Simplified Student Council Resolution

Together, the non-partisan voices of the ed sector can help move Congress to act on climate to protect students.

Thanks everyone for your work!

Cheers,
Park
