Recently Time magazine nominated Tylor Swift as the person of the year. Not to demean anyone, but a person of the year should be someone whose not just a famous celebrity, but should serve as an exemplary figure of justice and courage to the rest of the world, known for their outbreaking work.

In the wake of the genocide carried out by Israel unfolding in Gaza there have been many reporters, innocent men, women an children that have lost their lives to the barbaric atrocities they have been subjected to as we all sit quiet and witness it unfold.

However we can act in our small way to do the right thing, by calling out the perpetrators and holding a mirror to the society for what’s right and what’s wrong. In the wake of all this one man in particular who the majority of the world feels deserves to be the person of the year more than anyone is journalist Mortaz Azaiza. 

I hereby start this peition to encourage Time to roll back their decision, and nominate Mortaz as the person of the year. 

A person who risks his life every second to bring the truth to 7 billion people worldwide. A person who holds a camera in one hand and ploughs with another to extract dead bodies of innocent men, women and children through rubbles of buildings attacked by Israelis missiles every hour and sometimes every minute. 

His journalistic astuteness is second to none in the wake of the life threatening conditions he faces on daily basis to bring us the truth, and as such he deserves to be the “Time Person of the year” more than anyone.
