On February 28, 2025, an unimaginably tragic event unfolded that continues to cause pain and grief. Shainy, a 43-year-old woman, and her two innocent children, aged 11 and 10, were found dead in a sorrowful act of suicide. Shainy was the sister-in-law of Fr Boby Cheriyil and the children were his nieces. He is currently serving the diocese, a position of trust and leadership in the community. The sudden and shocking demise of the family has raised numerous questions and scepticism about the involvement of Fr Boby Cheriyil in these heartbreaking events.

The anguish and concerns are compounded as it's not only the family, but also the larger community and the society who are witness to this despair. Numerous news reports and speculations on social media platforms have vociferously raised this issue, demanding a impartial investigation. Our demand aligns similarly, fueled by empathy towards the deceased and a concern for justice. The call for a comprehensive investigation into Fr Boby Cheriyil's alleged involvement isn’t an unreasonable demand, rather it's a call for justice and truth.

On behalf of everyone affected by this tragic incident, we urge law enforcement agencies and judicial systems to take our appeal into considerstion. A transparent, exhaustive and uncompromised investigation is a right, not privilege. Unearth the reality behind this unfortunate incident, restore faith in justice system, and provide closure to all related parties. Feel the convicting duty within you to uphold justice and sign this petition.
