Save the Sequence Decoder!!

The Issue

On March 29, American Airlines revoked access to third party applications, such as Sequence Decoder, developed by a brilliant flight attendant, Jeff Reisberg based in Charlotte, North Carolina. If you know of him, you've no doubt heard about his passion for labor representation; a true unionist who through his development of the Sequence Decoder app, looks out for his airline family.

Understandably, American Airlines is seeking to protect it's interests and safeguard it's cyber security; however, they do so while failing to recognize that certain applications, like Sequence Decoder had never in it's seven year development history posed a risk, and in fact gave direct benefit to the airline by helping flight attendants navigate through their Reserve rotations by showing where they stood while on duty, understand duty limitations and legalities - both contractually and federally regulated, showed crucial information about their trips...right down to pilot meals, displayed trips in open time, and provided ETB (trade board) alerts.

In all, Sequence Decoder played a role in compensating where American Airlines systems lacked, kept crews informed, improved morale, and most importantly, American Airlines airplanes flying! After seven years and several hundred thousand dollars later (at no cost to the company), to have his project wiped off the map in one click is devastating and detrimental to all who knew the benefits of Sequence Decoder, bringing us back to the Dark Ages.

Gratefully, Jeff has the respect and full support of local and national leadership at the Association for Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) who know his passion and his brilliance, and Sequence Decoder. That's why we need your support and why we ask you to show it through signing this petition, sharing it with your crews and flight attendant colleagues. Tell the pilots too and ask them to sign, because they too have indirectly derived benefit from this program!

We humbly ask for your support via Patreon (Click Here) instead of donating on this petition. That will ensure that his full time programmer will receive one more paycheck if our efforts do not succeed.

Finally, we would ask that all of you write a professionally written letter to Brady Byrnes, VP of Flight Service, and Frank Morales, VP of Base Operations, to let them know just how valuable Sequence Decoder is to you, and could be to them. Thank you for your kind support and your generosity in keeping Sequence Decoder alive.
