Why this petition matters

Started by Jordan Zucker

Ever since February 3rd of 2020, it has been a very upsetting & sad day for the Angry Birds franchise & its fans, including me. 3 of Angry Birds most beloved games: Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Star Wars, & Angry Birds Star Wars II, are now slated to become discontinued.

These 3 Angry Birds crossovers with Rio Franchise & the Star Wars Multiverse (franchise) were fun games that had fans like me loving the Angry Birds Franchise.

But for me, the most prominent of the 3 discontinuing Angry Birds games is, believe it or not, Angry Birds Rio. This game & its trailer, as well as the Rio Films by Blue Sky Studios, are the biggest reasons why my huge fondness for Rovio Entertainment's Angry Birds franchise was ever sparked in the first place.

But now that Angry Birds Rio is going to leave the franchise, along with the Angry Birds Star Wars games, my love for the Angry Birds series has took an extremely hard hit (but is still striving).

Most people believe that the discontinuation of Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games was probably due to licensing issues, since the Walt Disney Company not only currently owns LucasFilms for the Star Wars Franchise, but also now owns 20th Century Studios (formerly 20th Century Fox), a subsidiary in which Blue Sky Studios (Rio's Creator) is a part of.

But nevertheless, this move to discontinue Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars Games is sure to fuel up harsh & serious backlash from Angry Birds fans (as shown from the link below), and may cause fans to lose faith in Rovio & the Angry Birds Franchise & leave them entirely. How many outraged and/or deserted fans, exactly? Who knows...

HOWEVER I, on the other hand, am NOT willing to become one of those fans. Even with the Angry Birds franchise taking hard hits from the fanbase due to moves like removing the Classic games for "testing purposes", or Angry Birds Rio & thr Angry Birds Star Wars games discontinuing, I still cling on to my love for the fracnhise. Besides, even if Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games departing from the Angry Birds series soon, these crossovers will always have a place in my heart, ESPECIALLY Angry Birds Rio. After all, once allies with the Angry Birds, ALWAYS allies with the Angry Birds.

Besides, even with Angry Birds Rio & the Angrh Birds Star Wars games departing from the series, I am STILL including anything from Rio & Star Wars to keep their bond with Angry Birds alive, such as...

1.) My Anniversary Presents to Rovio. :)

And 2.) My series of PowerPoints & Word Documents: the Angry Birds Go! DX Project & its DX Files, that I've been working on for almost 6 years! 8D

And on the bright side, if fans still have Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games installed in their iTunes Library and Mobile Devices, then they should be anle to still play those games. :)

Still it'll be sad to see Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars leave the fracnhise. They will surely be immensely missed.

HOWEVER... I do believe there  is a chance (albeit, a small one) that Angry Birds Rio & the Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games can return. And that is if the Walt Disney Company & Rovio Entertainment can come together & come up with a compromise to bring back Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games, and allow them to keep thriving for good.

This is asking for much, but there is a chance that we might convince Rovio & the Walt Disney Company to come together & bring Angry Birds' crossovers with Rio & Star Wars back, & have them remain in the App Stores for good. So if you want to see that happen, please sign this petition, and tell Rovio & the Walt Disney Company that we want Angry Birds Rio & the Angry Birds Star Wars games to return & remain in the App Stores for generations to come.
