The Issue

The IOC has a choice: lead with principle, or keep writing checks while athletes and fans are left watching a system that feels like punishment for everyone except the teams being allowed to return.

Right now, Russia’s participation is being treated as “acceptable” by the IOC—despite the global expectation that consequences should follow violations. That isn’t just a sports decision. It’s a signal about whether accountability matters in international competition—or whether power and bureaucracy can dilute it into empty statements.

We demand that the United States government use the leverage it actually has: stop funding the IOC until the IOC reinstates the ban on Russia’s participation and clearly commits to enforceable compliance across IOC-led events and pathways. No more funding while rules are selectively loosened and athletes are expected to compete under conditions that many consider inequitable and unsafe.

With every day the IOC continues operating as if there’s no meaningful consequence, real people pay the price:

  • Athletes are forced to train, qualify, and compete in a system that doesn’t reflect the standards of accountability the world demanded.
  • Fans lose trust when “fair play” is applied unevenly.
  • Sports institutions risk becoming political instruments instead of independent guardians of competition.

Demand: The U.S. government must immediately halt funding to the IOC and condition any continued support on the reinstatement of the ban on Russia’s participation—with clear, measurable enforcement, not vague promises.

This is the moment for the U.S. to draw a hard line: no funding without consequences. No support without compliance.

Sign now to demand that the IOC be held to the standard it claims to represent—and that athletes aren’t left carrying the cost of decisions made behind closed doors.
