The current issues concerning the German Immersion program at Ramstein Elementary School in Germany has been caused due to the outrageous standards that are required in order for a teacher to be qualified. Due to these standards some of the best German Immersion teachers do not meet the requirements, and therefore could be terminated. We need to stop this, because these teachers are great and, although they may not have native fluency in German, they have been teaching a great deal to our kids about the German language and culture. We are Americans living in Germany and serving our country and it is very important that our kids are able to learn the language of the country they are living in. It is very important that the German Immersion program continues and that the teachers who have been contributing so fruitfully to this program continue to do so.
