Please email the Mayor and Ormond Beach Commissioners asking them to pursue grant money for the purchase of 76 lots that were scheduled to be a part of the development. The developer is a willing seller and the lots run parallel to the 175 ft buffer. An application for grant money can be filled through Florida Communities Trust. There are funds in Volusia Forever and ECHO. The price is achievable. An appraisal would be done, and negotiations would happen.

The original Save the Loop movement that started in 2003 has never ended. The Ormond Scenic Loop is a Florida Scenic Highway and a National Scenic Byway. Bulow State Park is across the street from the land that is for sale. Tomoka State Park is down the road. Ecotourism is important to our economy. The public has shown they want land conservation by voting to renew Volusia Forever with a 75% approval. Don't let a realistic opportunity to protect land on the loop pass us by.
