In honor of those brave men and women who have given their lives for all citizens of the United States to be free from foreign overlords and self-righteous kings and queens, it is time that We the People declare, this day, that the official language of the United States is “American” or “American English”.

From radio to television, and across all musical genres, no other country has been more influential to language than the U.S.  Our language could not be more of our own, with slang and terminology originating from within our Culture, we have not spoken the Queens English in nearly 100 years.

British English still dominates the world due to our adherence of this version of “English” through television and block buster movies.  Whether it is a movie about Rome or one cast into the future, Hollywood still cast actors using British accents securing the worlds image as to what “proper” English is.
So let us announce this declaration and embrace one of the most impactful creations we have made in our short 245 year history- language.

Let us come together and claim our independence in one of the most important parts of society- our very language.
