No to an Academy at The John Roan School

We the undersigned oppose The John Roan Governing Body’s plans to convert The John Roan School to a Multi Academy Trust (MAT). There is no educational evidence that academy status will improve the educational chances of our children and students. Infact, there is mounting evidence that they are detrimental to the educational opportunity for all. We believe that schools should be run for the community, publicly owned and accountable to the community - in short, comprehensive education.
