Stop the Hong Kong Extradition Bill

The administration of Chinese President Xi Jinping is attempting to pass a bill that will allow for the extradition of alleged criminals to China from Hong Kong. This will be used and abused by the Chinese government to accomplish their political agendas especially with the rise in resentment against the communist government of China in Hong Kong. The freedoms of the people of Hong Kong are being eroded. As of late, protesters have blocked the government from debating and passing this bill by forming human barriers on key roads. Protesters were exposed to tear gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets by officers who drove back the crowds of mostly young demonstrators, some of whom were wearing masks, goggles and helmets. Police declared a riot and accused protesters, who were mostly unarmed, of hurling metal rods and bricks at officers. Hong Kong's supposed leader Carrie Lam acts as a puppet for the Chinese government and has refused to withdraw the extradition bill, saying it is needed to plug loopholes to prevent the city from becoming a haven for mainland fugitives. This is a direct attack on democracy, the right to peaceful protest, the rule of law and overall, the very fundamental principles of which Hong Kong has long stood for.
