Rushcliffe Borough Council has always stood as a paragon of effective governance. It is a debt-free council with one of the lowest council taxes in Nottinghamshire, making prudent use of taxpayers money funds while delivering high-quality services. Recently, the council was even shortlisted for the prestigious 'Council of the Year' award, showing how well though of the Council is across the UK.

Yet, The Labour Government  are proposing to cut funding for Rushcliffe Borough Council. They want to reward the failure of Councils like Nottingham City Council by increasing their funding, while cutting successful council's like Rushcliffe Borough Council. This decision not only undermines the councils ability to maintain the fantastic services it provides but also threatens the very foundation of the community’s well-being.

This cut in funding feels like we are being effectively blackmailed. We are being told we must maximise your Council Tax, at a time the Labour Government is hitting working people in their pocket. 

Moreover, the cut is counterproductive to the government's own objectives for growth and community support. Rushcliffe serves as a model council, constantly innovating and delivering more for less.

We call on the Government to reverse this funding cut immediately. By restoring the funding, we can ensure that Rushcliffe Borough Council continues to provide outstanding services and futuristic development, ultimately benefiting all its residents.
