Save Oak Park Ice Arena!

Save Oak Park Ice Arena!
The Issue
Oak Park Ice Arena is a 42 year old tradition. Folks, young and old, enjoy the ice rink for recreation and fun. A cool place to hang out during the hot summer months. But now, the refridgeration chiller is apparently dead. Where there was once rock hard ice, there is now slush. The City of Stockton is in financial free-fall and there are no funds to fix our beloved 2nd home.
In a city of problems, Oak Park is an oasis for kids to do something positive, safe and fun. Oak Park is also the home of the Stockton Colts Hockey program. With the addition of Coach Derek Eisler last year, the Colts have been picking up steam this last season. In 2011, the Colts fielded a record 7 teams for NorCal Youth Hockey. These dedicated players spend hours working hard and practicing. The Try Hockey for Free program was stronger than ever this Spring with over 50 participants from all over the Central Valley.
Please help the Colts, the Stockton Figure Skaters, and recreational skaters tell the City that although there are financial roadbloacks, we are committed to saving Oak Park. I, for one, am willing to help the City knowing they can't do it alone. Please join me!
Please don't let Oak Park Ice Arena become a pool of melted dreams.
