((((( ~~~ The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act - H.R. 7962 ~~~ )))))

The Issue

We, the undersigned, call upon lawmakers to support The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act (H.R. 7926), which mandates air carriers to disclose vital information regarding potential Toxic Fumes Exposure to passengers, pilots, and cabin crew employees. This legislation is crucial for ensuring transparency and accountability within the airline industry. It establishes protocols for immediate notification of Toxic Fumes events, ensures all affected individuals are informed and provided with necessary support and resources, mandates disclosure of information about potential exposure, requires operators to inform all crewmembers of recent exposure, and imposes civil penalties for violations.

In 2018, I personally was exposed to toxic fumes (Tricresyl Phosphate -TCP, Carbon Monoxide) and other harmful chemicals that I still don't know of. As a result, I was diagnosed with a chemical concussion, a classic brain injury case. As a single mom, this has taken a toll on me in many ways that 'no one' will 'ever' understand. I currently have blurry vision (and wear glasses now), migraines, cognitive disabilities - thinking, concentrating, multitasking, short-term memory loss, and other debilitating symptoms that affect my ability to function on a daily basis.

Airline travel is a common mode of transportation for over 700 million Americans each year. However, there are often unseen events associated with flying, particularly concerning exposure to toxic fumes onboard aircraft. The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act addresses this critical issue by ensuring transparency and accountability within the airline industry. I am just one of the 700M, but I am using my voice to educate the other 699M to avoid the disabling symptoms I now have. Although I have worked tirelessly for the past three years to get the attention of Congress, this petition is not just about me; it's about the countless individuals who have suffered in silence due to toxic fume exposure. Families have been torn apart, careers have been lost, and lives have been forever changed. Your support for this legislation can prevent others from experiencing the pain and suffering I endure every day.

Join us in advocating for the safety and well-being of airline passengers, pilots, and cabin crew!
