Grey District Council proposes degrading the Library Service and removing qualified librarians from nearly all aspects of Library Management

As reported in the Greymouth Star 25th October 2022 - "managerial positions at .... the Grey District Library would be disestablished and replaced with supervisors".

Removing qualified librarians from input into the management of the Grey District Library will be a disaster that will have intergenerational effects. It will lead to a terrible degrading of the Grey District Library Service.

We believe that a quality library service has to have qualified librarians involved in the management of the library service.
