Do you want to watch your family get COVID-19? It's highly transmissible and think about our schools, hundreds of tightly packed kids, sitting around, next to hundreds of other kids. Think about how quickly a virus can travel through them.  Your child has probably already gotten sick at least once this year. They probably caught it at school and brought it home. How many times has another member of your family gotten sick from the same virus?

Let's get ahead of COVID-19 by asking Klein ISD to extend spring break by two weeks to allow families who traveled to areas with local outbreaks to effectively quarantine themselves before returning to school. This is a common sense response in order to keep our teachers, families and communities safe. Klein ISD can take precautions and join other school districts as well as other entities such as the Houston Rodeo, SXSW, etc. to buy us time by mitigating the spread of this new virus. Enough of us need to take protective measures because not doing so can lead to many people becoming ill, contribute to panic and possibly overwhelm our hospitals and resources. Klein ISD is, like other schools with chromebooks, uniquely equipped to utilize distance learning. 

So, we are asking Klein ISD to extend spring break by two weeks in order to help prevent people from getting sick and possibly even save lives. Please sign this petition and share widely!!
