The Silver Alert approval process needs revamped! Immediately! The website states a silver alert can be approved IF the missing person is over 65 OR has a debilitating diagnosis (dementia, alzheimers, etc). When a request was made for an 81 year old missing man from Clyde, Texas on March 10th 2021, for Mr. James West, it was denied by Austin due to no diagnosis at that time. They stated a diagnosis IS REQUIRED, no exceptions. It took until March 15th for the diagnosis to be given and the Silver Alert to be issued! Also, we were advised that Silver Alerts DO NOT go out on cell phones! This HAS to change!!! Mr. West's vehicle was found March 20th but he was not in it. Search is ongoing but getting that alert out sooner and to ALL platforms could have made the difference here. Please help us get signatures to support this change so that we can get Silver Alerts issued sooner, easier, and OUT TO ALL CELL PHONES! THANK YOU ALL
