The Issue

President Trump is preparing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska this Friday. But European leaders—and millions of people around the world—are deeply concerned by what this meeting might bring.

Reports suggest Trump is considering pushing Ukraine to give up land in exchange for a cease-fire—territory that Russia seized by force. This kind of deal would not only reward Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion, but it could also fracture decades of cooperation between the United States and its European allies. Worse, it risks encouraging further Russian aggression beyond Ukraine.

We cannot let that happen.

Ukraine’s president has made it clear: he’s willing to pursue peace, but not by surrendering parts of his country. European Union leaders have stood by this principle too, emphasizing that peace must involve Ukraine—and that borders cannot be changed by violence. Yet Trump appears willing to sideline both Ukraine and the EU in favor of a one-on-one deal with Putin, despite Putin's refusal to negotiate in good faith and continued missile attacks on Ukrainian civilians.

This is about more than one country. It’s about the future of global security. If Russia is allowed to keep the land it stole, what message does that send to other autocrats? That military invasions work? That alliances can be broken with the right leverage?

We urge President Trump: stand with America’s allies. Stand with Ukraine. Do not legitimize Putin’s conquests. Any peace plan that begins with surrender will not bring lasting peace—it will invite more war.

The world is watching. Europe is watching. History will remember this moment.

Sign this petition to demand that President Trump protect our shared democratic values and refuse to cut a deal that rewards aggression and abandons our allies.
