Tell Obama: Walk With Wisconsin Workers!
Tell Obama: Walk With Wisconsin Workers!
The Issue
In a 2007 campaign speech, Barack Obama made his support of organized labor clear, saying "if American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I'm in the White House, I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself. I'll walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America."
In Wisconsin, Republican Governor Scott Walker has mounted an all-out attack on public employees’ right to collective bargain, prompting two solid weeks of protest in the state’s capital of Madison.
President Obama needs to make good on his promise to working people and participate in Wisconsin’s protests.
