This petition is just made to reflect students" opinions but here is why we should NOT receive homework due on Mondays or during weekends. Students are stripped of their time that they're able to spend with their family and friends. Most of us are "deadline fighters" because we already have enough homework due during the days before as it is. That not only affects our free time, but our family's as well. They are often forced to stay home and cancel most of their plans to spend the day and accompany us as we complete our homework (because there is this quite inconvenient law that states children are not allowed to stay at home alone). This is unfair to both students and their families. If there are those of you who think "Ah well you already spent enough time having fun during summer and Christmas anyways", that's incredibly narrow-minded. Think about how long there is to wait between long holidays. Even for Christmas or Lunar New Year holidays etc, they only last for at most a week or two. Not. Cool. Do you expect students to spend the rest of their time with their homework instead of their families???
