Target Australia: Reintroduce your ban on free plastic bags

The issue

In May 2009 Target announced that they were banning free plastic bags.

Now due to only ~500 formal complaints a year they are reintroducing free plastic bags. Target said "We've decided to offer free shopping bags in response to extensive customer concern about being charged for bags in our stores."

Target's reasons for banning free palstic bags have not changed. "We all have a role to play in reducing our impact on the environment. One way is to reduce the use of plastic shopping bags in our business."

Please sign my petition so Target knows there are many more than 500 people who want them to reintroduce its own ban on free plastic bags.

You can phone Target on 1300 753 567 or email them via their online feedback form
