Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma derives its genius from portraying every strata of the society. With the members of the society, it encapsulated middle class. With Baga, Abdul, Sunita and recurring characters, it shows the poor and lower middle class. And for a time, it also nailed the rich of the society in the form of Matka King Mohanlal.

Mohanlal was a great addition not just for being rich, but for showing the different shades of grey which constitute a person. Even though involved in the dregs of crime, Mohanlal was a beloved member of the society, sponsoring sporting events such as GPL and helping cultural programmes such as Shayari competition. He was also protective of Gokuldham's Mahila Mandal when thieves started terrorising them, and was considerate enough to even come for Jethalal's farewell to London.

This great character hence was as multifaceted as Charles Foster Kane or Jay Gatsby, neck deep in wealth and yet still searching for human connection. That such a great character be excluded from the main cast is not only a loss to the moral compass of the show, but also a great blow to the many moments which his presence could have enhanced exponentially. Hence we request that Matka King Mohanlal be brought back to the show with full honours.
