Stratton Kingsdown Crossroads: implement official pedestrian crossing

Stratton Crossroads by The Kingsdown Brewery has become increasingly busier with traffic over the years.
This Crossroad has been an accident waiting to happen and as of 23rd Feb 2017 a poor women lost her life just trying to cross the road.
Of recent roadworks were carried out which I thought would have lead to a proper pedestrian crossing. This has not been the case.
The odd thing about this crossing is that there are lines on the road to indicate a pedestrian crossing, there are the dropped curbs to indicate a pedestrian crossing yet there is no button to press and the time between the lights changing for cars is seconds barely enough time for a person to cross.
There are hundreds of children that risk crossing here daily plus being an elderly area also, I have seen much slower people trying to get across the road.
We are taught growing up to walk and not run when crossing the road yet here many are left with no choice.
This petition is to push to get a proper crossing set up of some description before another tragic accident occurs.
Thank you in advance. Please Share with as many people as possible and lets make a difference.
