The Wentworth Courier is a publication that is distributed weekly to the doorsteps of all residents in the Woollahra Council area (as well as some in the Sydney Council area). The publication is owned by NewsCorp (a Murdoch company) under their realestate.com.au brand.

The observation in our local neighbourhood over the past couple of years is that the publication is thrown on the footpath late at night by a driver and then most residents are not taking it into their house or opening it, but throwing it straight into their waste.

We believe there should be choice in what is given to us each week and also that the publication should be moved online to reduce its environmental impact.

We are asking Woollahra Council to stop their association with this publication in its current format and force NewsCorp to stop littering our streets each week. Everyone in the Community these days is trying to do their bit for the environment, with reuse, recycling and reduced waste.

This petition will be sent to our mayor Susan Wynne for consideration and response.
