Support the Settlement of Afghan Women Leaders in Atlanta, GA

The Issue

Afghan Women Leaders are facing grave threats to their lives and livelihoods due to the current crisis in Afghanistan following the re-emergence of the Taliban. These brave individuals, who have fought for the rights of women in their country, now seek refuge and a chance to continue their work in safety. We propose that the city of Atlanta, GA, famous for its commitment to diversity and human rights, extend its hospitality to help these women leaders settle and find new beginnings. According to the Refugee Processing Center, Georgia has welcomed over 3,000 refugees from Afghanistan from 2002-2017 (Ref: RPC data). However, the current situation calls for greater urgency and action. We urge local and national stakeholders to expedite the resettlement process and provide the necessary resources to ensure a smooth transition for these women. Let's honor their courage by offering our support. Please, sign this petition to advocate for the settlement of Afghan Women Leaders in Atlanta, GA.
