David Albert Scott is an American politician and businessman who has served as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 13th congressional district since 2003. A member of the Democratic Party, his district encompasses the southern part of Atlanta and its surrounding suburbs. Before his tenure in Congress, Scott had an extensive political career in the Georgia Legislature, serving as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 1974 to 1982 and the Georgia State Senate from 1982 to 2002. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2023, he became the ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee. Previously, he worked as a business executive and founded Dayn-Mark Advertising.
