The Issue

As artists from a smaller community, we've experienced first-hand the countless challenges of showcasing our art, and the obstacles that come along with finding healthy and positive environments to build and nurture the comradory and togetherness it takes for an artist to be successful. Over the past two years, our teams have devoted immense energy, creativity, and resources into creating the Sonic Sunflower Festival, an event that offers our fellow local artists a vibrant platform for their talents to shine.

Unfortunately, this cherished festival, a beacon of creativity and community spirit for the surrounding counties, faces obstacles that threaten its very existence. Due to a recent ruling pertaining to permits with the venue, we have been forced to halt all operations and risk losing this wonderful event that so many have poured their heart and souls into. Our sponsors, vendors, staff, and numerous artists have invested substantial resources, both time and money, into this event. It is not just an event; it's a dream coming to life, a testament to the resilience, passion, and incredible artistic community we have right here in the Heartland.

The festival aims to celebrate the flourishing local art scene and bring together people of all ages. It's a space where art isn't just displayed, but experienced and felt on a much deeper and meaningful level. Where we don't just talk about the opportunities needed, but we come together, build bonds, and create those opportunities as a family united in passion. This festival is vital in promoting the arts and enriching the cultural fabric of our community.

By standing together, we can protect the investments already made by a community united and ensure that this celebration of local artistry goes on uninterrupted. We can speak up for the soft spoken child who feels whole when they're drawing in their sketchbook, or the broken heart that finds healing in a song, and aid in creating a lasting legacy, one that continues to nurture and support artists now and for generations to come.

Help us make the Sonic Sunflower Festival a reality and preserve this vital outlet for creativity and artistic expression. Sign this petition to show your support and help us overcome the hurdles in our way, ensuring that our artistic community continues to thrive and inspire.
