Support President Barack Obama wearing an IMU tee!
The Issue
I Miss You, Inc. (IMU) is a 6 month old, small business based out of Ann Arbor, MI. IMU has made a commitment to bettering communities, one that connects well with President Obama’s presidential campaign and platform. Through clothing and service, IMU’s goal is to spread happiness while appreciating the people and experiences that make us who we are! “We want to make those affiliated with the brand feel special, appreciated, valued – all feelings associated with hearing the words ‘I Miss You.’ We achieve this through our high quality, fun, youthful, and fashionable clothing, our unrivaled customer service, and our innovative community service component,” says President/CEO David Merritt.
Not only is each IMU employee dedicated to giving 8-10 hours of community service per month, but each t-shirt that IMU sells also represents and encourages an hour of community service from the customer. It’s a community challenge presented by the company encouraging their customers to act upon their citizenship and advocate for change through service. In honor of the President’s arrival on the University of Michigan campus to deliver the Spring Commencement address, IMU will launch “OBAMA 4 IMU.”
Modeled after an actual political campaign, Obama 4 IMU will be aimed at convincing President Obama to don an IMU T-shirt and embrace the company’s vision. The goal is for the president to wear the IMU apparel when he arrives in Michigan to deliver the University of Michigan’s 2010 Spring Commencement Address on May 1. “If we can convince the leader of the free world to wear our line, we believe a message will be sent around the globe that service and service-minded companies are important. Wearing an IMU T-shirt is like wearing a badge of service,” says Merritt.
This petition is a request for your signatures to help raise awareness and support of President Obama wearing an IMU tee and endorsing the broadened perspective IMU is striving for. It is not political ties or affiliation, but rather it is about being a citizen of this world and the importance of service no matter the group someone affiliates themselves with
