Support PepsiCo's Initiative of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Against Racist Boycotts
The Issue
The year 2025. I write this petition as a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). I deeply appreciate the DEI initiatives taken by PepsiCo, which have transcended many racial and cultural barriers. Asian Americans, amongst many other communities, have developed a profound love for PepsiCo products over the years, and its significance in our lives is undeniable.
However, we are disheartened and outraged by the actions of Reverend Alfred Charles Sharpton Jr., who is leading a boycott against PepsiCo borne out of prejudice. This boycott is not just an attack on a corporation, but also a direct hit on the concept of diversity, equity, and inclusion that we desperately need to uphold in our society.
PepsiCo employs over 263,000 individuals worldwide, according to landmark figures from 2020. Many of these employees belong to minority groups, including a staggering number of Asian Americans (Source: PepsiCo). By boycotting PepsiCo, Sharpton is consequently perpetuating a form of racial ignorance that directly impacts these dedicated and hardworking individuals. This irresponsible action is threatening their livelihoods and, in the broader sense, propagating racial disharmony.
In solidarity with PepsiCo and its commendable initiatives to promote DEI, we strongly demand Rev. Sharpton ceases his boycott immediately. As diverse and inclusive communities, we shall not bow to such racially motivated actions, and we stand with PepsiCo against all forms of racism and bigotry.
It’s time to fight back! It’s time to stand up for the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion that we all hold dear. Stop the unwarranted boycott on PepsiCo now. Please sign and share this petition right now! Thank you.
