Support Mohammad Ewaz Nazari's Mission for Online Education for Afghan Girls
The Issue
This petition is a plea by Mohammad Ewaz Nazari, a U.S. State Department Exchange Alumni, and former Deputy Education Director of Kandahar. A dedicated advocate for education, particularly for girls in Afghanistan, his beliefs brought him the disdain of the Taliban, resulting in him becoming a marked target. Forced to flee for his life in 2021, Mohammad, and his family are currently in dire straits in Pakistan, while his brothers are unjustly incarcerated back in Afghanistan.
In spite of these adversities, Mohammad is committed to continuing his mission - creating an online academy for Afghan girls. According to UNICEF, only a third of Afghan girls attend secondary school (UNICEF, 2018). Mohammad seeks to change this narrative through his online academy.
However, to realise this dream, Mohammad requires our support with resettlement and financial assistance. The values of freedom and education, which Mohammad and many like him brave persecution to uphold, mirror the principles the U.S. is known for. Let us unite in ensuring these values do not become empty promises.
Sign this petition to ask the U.S. Government and international authorities to assist Mohammad Ewaz Nazari in his mission, and to uphold their ethos of supporting freedom, education and the oppressed.
