The Issue

This year the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 10, requiring every public-school classroom to display a 16x20 inch framed or poster copy of the Ten Commandments, using the text from the monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds.

On July 2, 2025, a lawsuit filed by 16 families and backed by major secular organizations argued that the bill made it harder for them to live freely.

On August 20, 2025, a U.S. District judge issued a temporary injunction, blocking the law's enforcement in 11 school districts across Texas.

Displaying the Ten Commandments in Texas public schools can significantly enhance the moral and ethical foundation for our children. The Ten Commandments are timeless principles that encourage honesty, respect, integrity, and personal responsibility. These values are essential for building strong, thriving communities.

The historical influence of the Ten Commandments is undeniable. These principles have shaped U.S. history and societal development since the nation’s founding. In Texas, a state proud of its diverse cultural and historical roots, displaying the Ten Commandments would be a meaningful acknowledgment of this heritage. This initiative does not compel religious practice but instead highlights shared values that commend civility, respect, and ethical behavior.

In today’s fast-changing and often challenging world, children need consistent guidance to navigate right from wrong. With so many external influences, reinforcing values that foster good citizenship, empathy, and responsibility is more important than ever. The Ten Commandments can serve as a steady guide, helping young people grow into conscientious and community-minded adults.

We call on parents, teachers, community leaders, and everyone who cares about Texas kids to join us in bringing this timeless framework of history and values into our schools.

Join us in advocating for the display of the Ten Commandments in Texas public schools. Sign this petition to help pave the way toward a stronger, more ethical future for the next generation.
