Weilmoringle is a small, remote community in Far West NSW, where children and families have very limited access to recreational facilities.

During our long, extremely hot summers, there are few local places for children to safely play, cool down, be active and spend time together.

Our community has been working towards establishing a water park / water play facility in Weilmoringle, with Brewarrina Shire Council previously seeking funding for the project. Unfortunately, funding applications for the project have so far been unsuccessful.

We don't want that to be the end of this project.

A water park would be much more than somewhere to cool down. For a small and geographically isolated community like Weilmoringle, it would provide a safe and accessible place for our children, young people and families to come together.

It would encourage outdoor play and physical activity, support the health and wellbeing of local children, strengthen community connection and provide Weilmoringle with a recreational facility that families can access without having to travel considerable distances.

We are asking Brewarrina Shire Council to continue supporting and prioritising the Weilmoringle Water Park project and to continue pursuing State, Federal and other funding opportunities to make it possible.

Most importantly, we want to demonstrate that there is genuine community support behind this project.
