School District 8 has directed the administration of Trafalgar to remove 3.3 full time teachers from their current staff of 24 teachers because there will be 30 less students enrolled in the school for the 2014-2015 school year. The current band teacher (Mr. G. Freeman) was hired on a temporary contract, and his contract will not be renewed. Trafalgar is now not able to hire a new dedicated band teacher, putting the current band program at risk.
