Do you want rubbish floating in the blue water we swim in? Did you know rubbish polluting our oceans is a problem that needs to be fixed? Whilst we can’t fix it completely, we can help by introducing a year 7-8 program at school, where we all go to a local beach such as Bancoora, and have a beach cleanup for two-three sessions a week for each grade. We need to do this otherwise sea creatures such as turtles and fish will eat the rubbish and possibly die. Turtles eat plastic bags because they look like jellyfish. That bag then ends up stuck in their intestines. Fish, turtles, and dolphins can all get stuck in fishing wires, ropes, and nets. My experience with this is when I take my dogs to the beach there is so much rubbish you cant avoid it, I've had my dog eat rubbish and we've had to go to the vet. it is upsetting when your dog has to get surgery because of a fun trip to the beach.
