International students contribute a large proportion of University of Melbourne's revenue, but the coronavirus crisis that has seen disadvantaged students being ignored by the University.

The University has been reluctant to provide fee remission and refund of Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) although many students have

a. expressed discontent with the delivery of course content

b. not used any physical facilities in the campus yet charged the SSAF*

c. experienced mental illness due to loneliness and loss of income

3. The University needs to address the importance of international students, acknowledge its position as a non-profit research university and provide us the relief!

Should the University decide to maintain their stand on no-fee relief, please strongly consider deferring your course of study by one semester (because why even when it is online) or at least pay your fees in two instalments.

The deferral in the University's income could amplify this cause and show the University our significance.

* Even our Zoom is not upgraded to Pro and subject to 40-min limit despite the need to collaborate virtually for assignments
