Speak Out Against Anti-Blackness in Cal State Faculty

The Issue

Cal State Los Angeles is the second school to make Ethnic Studies into its own college and discipline. Although there has been a lot of disputes about who should run this new college. As a result, many faculty members sense anti-blackness within the school's senate. Discussions revolving the new leadership of Ethnic Studies are often delayed until their time runs out. The leaders of the faculty senate are deliberately withholding further conversation on the matter. This also blocks time for students to speak out on their own matters. How can the school do what is in our best interest but not allow us the space to speak? It's time we reconsider the role of governance in our own faculty senate.

Please help our movement by signing this petition so we can take a closer look at our faculty senate.
