Stop Wrongful Convictions and Prevent the Incarceration of Innocent Individuals

The Issue

Why you should sign:

In the United Kingdom, countless individuals are wrongfully convicted and unjustly imprisoned due to inequitable practices within the criminal justice system.

From manipulative interrogation procedures, to the misuse of forensic science, the criminal justice system is riddled with flaws that lead to the conviction of innocent people.

Many individuals have suffered and are still suffering with wrongful convictions. We must address these systemic faults and shortcomings that undermine our faith in justice to prevent future wrongful convictions.

Many legal professionals will agree that the UK systems in place are failing many individuals, families and communities. The ongoing problems have caused innocent people to loose their freedom by coercing those into accepting sentencing deals for crimes they did not commit.

Over the years the UK has been marked by appalling miscarriages of justice. The large majority of those innocent individuals have struggled to get legal help or do not have the access to those recourses.

It is our social and moral responsibility to advocate for prison and criminal justice reforms that ensure everyone receives fair treatment and justice. Make your voice heard by supporting this critical issue. Sign this petition to urge lawmakers and justice administrators to change the system to prevent wrongful convictions.
