Stop unfair contract practices by Confetti Publishers

Stop unfair contract practices by Confetti Publishers
The Issue
My name is Mrs Rajbir Kaur, and I am the owner of Beggars Reach Hotel in Pembrokeshire. In 2025, I was approached by Whitespace Publishers Ltd, trading as Confetti, offering what seemed to be a promising “3-month free trial” to advertise our wedding services. Eager to expand our reach, I agreed to the trial, expecting nothing more than promotional support. However, at the end of the trial, I—and many other unsuspecting small business owners across the UK—were shocked to receive demands to pay £2,400 for a full year’s contract, one that we never knowingly agreed to.
This predicament is not isolated to Beggars Reach Hotel. Businesses throughout the UK are finding themselves ensnared in similar traps. These small businesses, the backbone of our local economies, are forced to either pay exorbitant fees or engage in costly and time-consuming legal battles to defend themselves against contracts they did not explicitly consent to. This has placed undue stress and financial burden on countless entrepreneurs.
The tactics employed by Confetti / Whitespace Publishers Ltd are not just unfair—they are deeply misleading. Offering a trial with hidden terms that convert into binding contracts without explicit consent should be classified as deceptive business practice. These practices erode trust and potentially violate consumer rights laws, which are intended to protect businesses and consumers alike from such exploitation.
I urge the UK authorities to take immediate action against Confetti / Whitespace Publishers Ltd. Regulatory bodies must investigate these practices and enforce stricter guidelines to protect small businesses from deceitful contracts. By doing so, they will restore fairness and ensure that business operations are conducted with integrity and transparency.
Please join me in calling for justice and fair play in the UK business environment. Sign this petition to demand regulatory intervention and protect thousands of small businesses like Beggars Reach Hotel from falling victim to misleading contractual practices.
