Stop undocumented migrants from being housed in Rhosllanerchrugog

Stop undocumented migrants from being housed in Rhosllanerchrugog
The Issue
As a parent and a concerned resident of Rhosllanerchrugog, I am deeply worried about the plans to house undocumented migrants in our beloved community. Alongside generations of residents, I am proud of its warm atmosphere and tight-knit community spirit – a safe environment where my children can grow and develop without fear.
Recently, there have been discussions to accommodate undocumented migrants in local housing. Whilst I am empathetic to their plight and believe in the need for humanitarian support, I am concerned about the impact this sudden and unplanned influx could have on both the safety and resources of our community.
Statistics have shown that communities experiencing rapid cultural and demographic shifts, especially without adequate planning and resources, can suffer from infrastructural strain, leading to increased crime rates and a decrease in the overall quality of life.
We must also give serious consideration to existing Wrexham residents who are facing homelessness. These people, include the survivors of domestic violence, veterans and young families. We should be asking the question why are they not being considered for the same opportunity?
Sign this petition to demand that both the UK Government and the local council pause these plans and conduct a thorough impact assessment on how this will effect our community. Both the UK government and the local council should also confirm or deny whether existing Wrexham residents facing homelessness have also been considered for the same opportunity and provide substantial reasoning as to why they may have been rejected.
