Kingsdown, known to many as a picturesque, iconic, former fishing village is under serious threat. Central government, Dover District Council and the company 'Kitewood' are driving a development of up to 70 new dwellings without considering the impacts this will have on the village and its residents. As a resident personally affected by this proposed development, I cannot stand by and let this happen. Roads, parking, infrastructure, school places – all are under immediate threat.

What's more, congestion and amenity are matters of great concern among us villagers - bringing in so many new houses will put a great strain on the small winding roads, making them hazardous and congested. This housing expansion will completely eradicate the unique character that makes Kingsdown, the last remaining fishing village in Kent, a place of charm and history. We want to preserve our village's character and charm rather than seeing our beloved Kingsdown turn into a future conurbation of Deal and Walmer.
