One might think that the Federal Government would stop giving money away to other nations at a time when our own nation is suffering from its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, but you'd be wrong.  According to Foreignassistance.gov,  the United States hands out $58 billion a year in a time when approximately 15 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed and the national debt is beyond human comprehension.  Roughly $188.92 is given away for every man, woman, and child in the US, every year.  That $58 billion could be better spent right here at home.   
 
Egypt, a nation ruled by a dictator for the past 30 years, receives $1.5 billion a year.  Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq - nations that hate us - receive a combined total of $5.7 billion per year.  Israel, a country with an unemployment rate far better than ours at 6.6%, is requesting $3 billion in aid for 2011 - why are we sending aid to a country that has a better economy that ours?  Shouldn't Israel be sending aid to the US? 
 
Let's stop this insane giveaway until our own house is in order.  Until we have paid off our national debt and unemployment is below 2%, there is no excuse - zero, zip, none - for the United States government to be giving away our money as foreign aid.
