Stop the Unfair PGR Conference Funding Cut!
The recent decision to reduce Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) conference funding from £1,000 to £500 is a significant setback for many students. This funding is crucial for PGRs to attend academic conferences, present their research, and network with other scholars.

This sudden reduction disproportionately impacts PGRs who had planned to attend a large, international conference and had saved their £1,000 allocation for this purpose. By choosing to prioritize a major conference, these students have effectively had half of their budget stripped from them.

We urge the university to reconsider this decision and reinstate the original £1,000 conference funding for all PGR students who had enrolled on or before 14/11/2024. This will ensure that all PGRs have the opportunity to attend the conferences that are most relevant to their research and career development.
