I am writing to update petition signers that on Friday CCPS released two alternative elementary school proposals.

Their Alternative Proposal 1 sends all of Imperial Golf Estates to Naples Park Elementary.

Their Alternative Proposal 2 sends all of Imperial Golf Estates to Veterans Memorial Elementary.

We need to urgently submit public feedback to CCPS in support of Alternative Proposal 2. Please use this link to fill out the CCPS comment form: https://www.collierschools.com/cms/module/selectsurvey/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=480

If you have submit comment previously to CCPS, please submit again. They need to hear from us. Here are a few ideas of what you could remind them of: 

• Our back gate is 1.9 miles from VME and all CCPS buses coming into the neighborhood have access to the back gate
• CCPS invested $100,000 into the construction of the back gate and Entrada Avenue for their own stated purpose of reducing transport costs and creating shorter transport routes
• Single-family homes in the back also financially contributed to the back gate via special assessment
• Based on the FL DOE achievement data, VME earned 83% of achievement points last year while NPE earned only 63% - this is not a lateral move for our students
• From a traffic and safety perspective, the intersection of Immokalee and 41 is an area of emphasized concern for serious injury and fatalities and there is no reason to send our children into it
• VME has space for our students based on their residing membership numbers and they can minimize impact on our community by keeping the children at the school they love 

The public comment period closes on February 29 at 12pm so this is time-sensitive.

I also want to take a moment to note that change.org is a major platform used for electronic petitions. When you sign a petition, change.org asks you to donate to them.
