School Rezone Update! Back in May, the Collier County School Board voted against the initial proposals. Since then, they have developed a new plan, Option B. Option B keeps Imperial zoned for Veterans Memorial Elementary. Please submit feedback to CCPS at the link below, in support of Option B. Past responses throughout this process do not count, so it is critical everyone submit the form again. This is our last chance, and they will vote on December 10th.

More Details:
At the November 19th workshop the School Board indicated they are considering two proposals:
- Option A, the original plan, which would rezone Imperial to Naples Park Elementary (NPE).
- Option B, the new proposal, which keeps Imperial zoned to Veterans Memorial Elementary (VME), which is our current zone, and where we would like to remain zoned.
CCPS has opened a brief period for public feedback. Option B effectively addresses many of the key concerns raised by many communities during the last round of public feedback, while also fulfilling several important goals set by the district. It targets adjustments primarily in the eastern areas, where community growth is most significant.
It is crucial for community members to submit feedback through the official CCPS form in support of Option B. This is our main conduit to the School Board. In your form we recommend including these relevant points on the form:
- Option B keeps Imperial zoned for VME, with no changes to the current VME school zone. All our original reasons for remaining at VME still stand.
- Option B impacts 700 fewer students, representing nearly a 33% reduction compared to the original plan, Option A.
- Option B helps reduce traffic congestion on westbound Immokalee Road, which is already heavily trafficked. Option A will increase it.
- Option B targets adjustments primarily in the eastern areas, where the community growth is most significant. (So it makes sense!)
On behalf of our children, families, and neighborhood as a whole please submit feedback. Thank you for your help, we are grateful for our wonderful community, family, and friends!
