Stop the plans to convert PIP Disability Payments to Vouchers and Catalogues

Stop the plans to convert PIP Disability Payments to Vouchers and Catalogues
The Issue
My child is disabled. Like so many other families with members who have a disability, we depend on the PIP (Personal Independence Payment) disability payments. These are not mere monetary transactions; they are a lifeline for my child to receive what they need and cover additional costs related to their special conditions. Most importantly, they hold the power of choice and freedom to satisfy their individual needs.
But now, we are facing a disconcerting reality. Potentially Substituting the PIP Disability payments with vouchers and catalogues endangers our child’s ability to live with as many opportunities and as much respect as anyone else. Being forced to select from a catalogue restricts their independence and weakens their empowerment. There are already enough challenges for people with disabilities; this will lead to loss of autonomy and a withdrawal of their rights.
According to Scope’s Disability Price Tag report, on average, life costs £583 more per month if you're disabled. We already manage an uphill battle with rising costs, and now we must fight for our children's most fundamental rights – the power to choose.
This petition is not just for my child—it's for all the children and Disabled people out there who rely on this flexible assistance that understands and weighs their individual needs. Let us join hands, help preserve their access to a wider range of goods and services, and the dignity of choice. Stop the conversion of PIP Disability payments to vouchers and catalogues, because our loved ones’ independence and rights matter. Please sign this petition today.
