Palestine: A Humanitarian Crisis
The conflict between Israel and Palestine has escalated to a new level of violence and brutality since October 7, 2024, when Palestinian armed groups launched a massive attack on southern Israel, killing hundreds of civilians and taking hostages. Israel responded with a devastating air campaign and a blockade on Gaza, leaving millions of Palestinians without electricity, water, health care, and basic necessities. Both sides have committed serious violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law, and the civilian population has borne the brunt of the suffering.
According to Human Rights Watch, War escalated after Palestinian armed groups, led by Hamas, breached the fences separating Gaza and Israel and attacked surrounding Israeli communities which were itself provoked by ongoing siege from Israel since a long time and squeezing the Palestinian territories to almost 70% by capturing their Living spaces. The act of pulling Civilians in war is despicable, amount to war crimes, as they deliberately target civilians, use indiscriminate weapons, and violate the principle of distinction between combatants and non-combatants.
Since the start of war, the figures of Human Cost are hallucinating. Where the casualties from Israel's side is amounted to 1139 killed and at least 8730 Injured. On the other hand, from Palestine's side 26,751 have been killed (more than 10,000 children) and 65,636 have injured (including 8,663 children). The reported figures are much higher than any casualty in recent past. It is an agony that different nations couldn't stand up to ceasefire by now. Especially, the role of USA in blocking the Veto for that is heinous.
Israel, on the other hand, has imposed a crippling blockade on Gaza, cutting off essential services, including water and electricity, to its 2.2 million residents. Israel has also blocked the entry of all but a trickle of fuel and critical humanitarian aid, creating a severe shortage of food, medicine, and other supplies. These measures amount to collective punishment, which is a war crime, as they punish the entire population for the actions of a few.
Israel has also conducted relentless airstrikes on Gaza, hitting schools, hospitals, and residential buildings, with no evident military targets in the vicinity, as well as using white phosphorus in densely populated areas. These attacks have caused widespread destruction and civilian casualties, and have violated the principles of proportionality and precaution in the use of force. According to Gaza authorities, more than 18,700 Palestinians, most of them civilians, including more than 7,800 children, were killed between October 7 and December 12. More than 85 percent of Gaza's population was displaced, and many remain homeless and traumatized.
In latest attack by Israeli forces, they opened fire Thursday on thousands of Palestinians who had gathered in an open area of Gaza City hoping to receive food and other desperately needed humanitarian aid, in which at least 104 people were killed and more than 750 others wounded.
The international community has condemned the violence and called for an immediate ceasefire and a political solution to the conflict. However, the efforts of the UN, the Arab League, and other mediators have been hampered by the lack of cooperation and trust between the parties, as well as the influence of regional and global powers. The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, and the prospects for peace and justice are bleak.
According to WFP, 3/4 Population of Palestine is under severe threat of famine and millions of others are part of chronic malnutrition. They are on verge of Death, which is crafted by devil forces like Israel which are preventing International Aids to reach to the needy.
The conflict in Palestine is not only a political and military struggle, but also a human rights crisis. Both Israel and Palestine have obligations under international law to respect and protect the rights of their own and each other's civilians, and to hold accountable those responsible for violations. The international community has a duty to ensure that these obligations are fulfilled, and to provide humanitarian assistance and protection to the victims. The human dignity and security of millions of people depend on it.
For this reason, i am raising this petition in front of our National Govt. and international Community to stop Israel from committing War crimes and taking Humanity to its ebb. we want immediate ceasefire and helping millions of Palestinians to get restored to their erstwhile places and helping civilians to get essential supplies as part of their Natural Human Right.
