This is a petition from the residents of the Bogside and surrounding area, FK10 3QD to express our very valid concerns surrounding the activities within the Burrowine Moor Quarry at Bogside (Patterson & Hillhouse).

Over recent times the activities within this facility have had an increasing impact on the area, destruction of the environment and amenities, dust fumes, increased flooding of the A907, extensive pollution of the Bluther Burn plus the creation of a massive overburden heap that now dominates the whole area and can be seen as far as Saline and beyond, not to mention the excessive slurry lagoon that presents the area with an ever present potential for serious harm.  

We as a community call on all the authorities to exercise their statutory duty of care to protect us from this ever evolving environmental disaster.
