The FBI has reclassified Animal Cruelty as a “crime against society,”

44, 875 Supporters of "STOP the Animal Neglect in Columbia County, N.Y." would like to thank the New York State Police, Troop K, for arresting Andrea Nussinow, owner of "Blue Star Thoroughbred Breeding Farm" for 35 counts of Animal Cruelty.
1/2/20 The New York State Police with the help of Godspeed Hostel & Horse Rescue and many volunteers "seized" thirty-eight neglected and suffering horses, and other animals from Blue Star Thoroughbred Farm.
Ironically, several of the emaciated Thoroughbreds seized by the New York State Police Troopers on 1/2/20 were the same Thoroughbreds in foal that Nussinow purchased at the Saratoga Fasig Tipton Fall Sale in October 2017 for a total of $ 6,900. Many of these same Thoroughbreds were now in dire condition, along with the emaciated young horses at their sides. Nussinow, in Bankruptcy Protection since 2015, purchased the 4 Thoroughbred's in foal after her first arrest for Animal Cruelty on 7/14/17, during a "seize in place" court order in direct "contempt of court" with "oversight" and lack of any enforcement by CGHS, the lead Animal Investigative Agency.
On 3/17/20, the New York State Troopers arrested Nussinow again for multiple counts of Animal Cruelty. The 35 violations of Animal Cruelty laws Nussinow was charged with included "torturing, causing injury, and starving" dozens of animals, including several neglected Thoroughbred mares and emaciated foals. This is the second time Nussinow has been arrested by the New York State Police Troopers for multiple Animal Cruelty violations since 2017, but so far Paul Czajka, District Attorney has failed to prosecute Nussinow for these serious crimes.
The FBI has reclassified Animal Cruelty as a “crime against society,” puts it on the same level of offense as murder, drug trafficking, arson, and assault. The FBI considers animal cruelty: Intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly taking an action that mistreats or kills any animal without just cause, such as torturing, tormenting, mutilation, maiming, poisoning, or abandonment. Included are instances of duty to provide care, e.g., shelter, food, water, care if sick or injured; transporting or confining an animal in a manner likely to cause injury or death; causing an animal to fight with another; inflicting excessive or repeated unnecessary pain or suffering, e.g., uses objects to beat or injure an animal. Studies have revealed that much violence against humans is intricately linked to animal abuse.
44,875 Supporters of " STOP the Animal Cruelty in Columbia County, N.Y. are urging Paul Czajka, DA to file charges and to fully prosecute Nussinow for Animal Cruelty violations " injuring, torturing, starving and causing the death" of dozens of animals.
A failure to successfully prosecute Nussinow would be a crime against the community, and the animals we are all "by law" required to protect. Thank you.
